He is a founding partner of Bufete García Jimeno, a lawyer graduated from the Escuela Libre de Derecho in 1975, specializing in judicial and arbitration litigation in civil and commercial law, insolvency proceedings, legal and financial restructuring of corporate and business groups.
He has represented national and international companies and the governments of several Mexican states in proceedings before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation.
He has participated as an expert witness in Mexican law or as an advocate in bankruptcy proceedings before the courts of the United States of America.
He advises major national corporations, insurance companies, banking institutions and surety companies.
He has actively participated in boards of directors of public and private companies.
He has postgraduate studies at the Escuela Libre de Derecho in “Private International Law, International Trade and Commercial Arbitration”.
He has been a professor of Bankruptcy and Suspension of Payments, Bankruptcy Law, General Theory of Process, General Theory of Obligations and Successions at several universities such as Universidad Panamericana, Escuela Libre de Derecho, Universidad Anahuac del Norte, and Universidad del Nuevo Mundo.
He is a member of the Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de México, founder of the Instituto Iberoamericano de Derecho Concursal.
He is a member of the Instituto de la Empresa de la Academia Nacional de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales de la Ciudad de Córdoba, Argentina, as well as of INSOL International.
He is a frequent lecturer in Congresses and Seminars, which has led him to participate in the following:
Seminar organized by COPARMEX and CANACINTRA in the State of Morelos “The Suspension of Payments as a Tool before the Economic Crisis in 1994”.
1st Hispanic-American Congress on Insolvency Law held in Barranquilla, Colombia, in November 2005.
2nd Ibero-American Congress on Insolvency Law held in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, in November 2006.
1st National Congress on Bankruptcy Law, organized by the Instituto de la Judicatura Federal Escuela Judicial, the Instituto Iberoamericano de Derecho Concursal and the Instituto Federal de Especialistas de Concursos Mercantiles (IFECOM) held in Mexico City in July 2007.
